Not checking the weather before booking

It’s so important that you check the weather before you visit Goa. You don’t want to turn up in the beautiful area when it’s in the middle of the rainy season which is July to August. After all, you then won’t be able to enjoy the gorgeous beaches or the water sports at all! Therefore, you need to check online the best season to visit Goa to ensure the weather will be nice for your trip.

Not looking into all forms of transport

It’s so easy to make a mistake when it comes to getting around in Goa. After all, the taxis are everywhere so it’s easy to get in one to get to a new location. But, unless it’s prepaid, they could make up a price as they don’t follow any kind of meter! Therefore, you should look into the different forms of transport available. Often the best and affordable option to get around the area you are staying in is to rent a scooter! As this feature says, they are around INR 200-300 day and are often the best way to get around tricky areas.

Not haggling like a pro

You need to make sure you are haggling like a pro when you are shopping in Goa. After all, there are so many things you will want to buy such as handmade jewelry and spices from the market. However, as soon as they see you are not local, they will often add money to the price. It means you are getting an item which is not worth the amount you will end up paying. Therefore, to ensure you don’t get ripped off, you need to start haggling. Try and negotiate your way to a middle number so that you know you are paying the same price they would charge to a local!

And remember to ask for less spice in your curries if you are worried about your stomach; if you ask, they will be happy to make it less spicy!
