The splendid beaches of India

India world over is known for its culture, history and traditions. But, there is something even more amazing to it and it is the Indian tourism. Over the years tourists from all across the globe have visited India and left with pleasant memories and desire to visit the country again. A land with mountains, beaches and deserts, the country has it all. Being surrounded by water from three sides means one of the best things and that is a lot of beaches. Following are three major tourist beaches of India.

  • Baga beach, Goa.

Goa is one of the most popular Indian tourist destinations with large number of tourists visiting it every year. The popularity of Goa as a vacation spot lies in its many beaches, churches and Goan delicacies. Amongst its several beaches, the Baga beach in Goa is extremely famous. Named after the Baga Creek the beach opens up to the spectacular view of the Arabian Sea. You will also find adventure water sports here including parasailing and banana ride. Baga beach is also famous for its dolphin cruises that introduce the tourists to the dolphins in the Arabian Sea. The bars, clubs, shacks and fine dining places around simply complement an amazing visit down there.

  • Varkala, Kerala.

The Indian state of Kerala is famous as ‘God’s Own Country’ and true to the name the state tourism is extremely alluring with backwaters and beaches. The Varkala Beach is located at Trivandrum and faces the Arabian Sea along with a part of Indian Ocean. Varkala Beach is also known as Papanasam beach and according to the local legend a dip in the waters of this beach is said to wash away one’s sins. With long cliffs on sides, the place not only provides an amazing beach escape but will also rejuvenate you with the famous Ayurvedic spas.

  • Gokarna, Karnataka.

If you like to avoid the crowd and still go a spectacular beach then Gokarna beach is definitely the place for you. The small town of Gokarna in Karnataka is famous as a very holy place with a temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. Now days the Gokarna beach has become one of the most tourist beaches in India. The place is extremely scenic being surrounded by both mountains of the Western Ghats and Arabian Sea. Here you will be truly surprised as you witness holy and spirituality combined with beautiful beaches in one of the most incredible picturesque backdrop.

  • Tarkali, Maharashtra.

Not a town, not a city, Tarkali is a fishing village in the state of Maharashtra that faces the vast Arabian sea. The Tarkali beach here has a very long coastline and probably one of the most beautiful coral reefs around. The Tarkali beach is also famous for various adventure water sports like scuba diving and snorkeling. It also has the state’s only scuba diving training center. With pristine waters and sun soaked sands, there is something fascinating about this place that leaves the tourist visiting Tarkali happy with a pleasant experience.
