Sagrada Familia, Barcelona
A well-known UNESCO world heritage site, Sagrada Familia is one of the largest and magnificent Roman Catholic churches. The interesting fact about this place is that the construction of the church began in the year 1882 AD and is expected to complete in the year 2028 AD by latest. Royal Palace, Madrid
The royal palace of Madrid also known as the “Palacio Real De Madrid” is an extremely stunning and largest palace of the country. The official residence of the royal family of Madrid, the palace was built around the 1700s. King Philip V orchestrated the construction of this palace which is spread over a floor space of 135,000 square meters, making it the largest palace in entire Europe according to floor space. Currently, there are 3,418 rooms in Palacio Real De Madrid, and while the royal family doesn’t reside here, it is used for official and important ceremonies of the state.
Aqueduct of Segovia, Segovia
Built by the Romans, the Aqueducts stand as a magnificent reminder of amazing architecture. The exact construction period and time is still a mystery, but the researchers state that it could have been built anywhere near the 1st or 2nd century. Quoted to be an important and best-preserved ancient architecture, the Aqueduct of Segovia has become a popular tourist spot and a known landmark of Spain. The main goal behind building this monument was to serve as water source which transported water to the city and households from the river Fuente Fria. Constructed by using more than 24,000 granite block, Aqueduct of Segovia is a fascinating sight to witness.
Alhambra, Granada
With the background of mountains, ‘Alhambra’ or ‘Calat Alhambra’ is a fortress and palace. First constructed as a fortress in 8th century, it was later converted into a palace by the sultan of Granada in 14th century. Tagged as UNESCO world heritage site, it was designed in Islamic architecture initially, and later on a Christian building and garden was constructed. Surrounded by river on north and a valley on south, it is one of the most picturesque places in Spain which attracts many tourists every year.
