It has been more than a decade since Baybeats was first began in 2002 by John Chiong. So much is its popularity that even twelve years later, this music festival generates excitement and crowd worth watching for which has only increased over time. A stage for indie-rock and alternative music, musicians from all over Asia and globe perform at the dais. This annual three day long music festival held in Esplanade in Singapore, provides various bands and performers a chance to showcase their talent in several music genres including folk and metal. Held anywhere between June to September, the bustling and energetic crowd is a must watch out for.

  1. ZoukOut

One of the most awaited annual events, ZoukOut is a dance music festival. And not only Singapore, but the entire Asian continent looks forward to this, making it one of the biggest dance music festivals of Asia. Launched in the beginning of the new millennium i.e. in 2000, ZoukOut every year since bring out the magic of dance and music. More than 40,000 people from various parts of Asia and Singapore gather at the Siloso Beach to groove, dance and party in this two days long festival. The past performers in ZoukOut includes acts by Grammy Award winner DJ Jazzy Jeff, W&W, Calvin Harris, Avicii, DJ Tiesto and many more. Held mostly in December, there is still time to gear up for the 2015 blast.

  1. Jerome’s Laneway Festival

Began at Melbourne, Australia in 2005, St. Jerome’s Laneway Festival was an instant hit. In the subsequent years that followed, it not only expanded to various Australian states but also to New Zealand, Auckland and Singapore. The year 2011 saw the launch of this famous music festival in Singapore where music enthusiasts from nook and corner of Asia made their presence felt. Since then it has been annually held in Singapore with thousands of audience grooving to indie music and other performances by Solange, Icona Pop, Vance Joy, Beach House and the list goes on. The surprising speed with which tickets are sold every year indicates the popularity of this event.
